Communication and Social Skills Training
People need an awareness of appropriate social behaviors. They also need opportunities practice new behavioral alternatives and achieve more constructive results. Communication and Social Skills Counseling provides the forum to develop self-awareness of one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The person will also develop empathy, an important outgrowth of self-awareness. The more one can understand their own emotions, the more skilled they are at understanding and responding to the emotions of others. Participants will also learn to mange feelings of stress by developing awareness of negative emotions and then learning constructive ways of expressing and controlling these emotions. One builds better social skills by learning and practicing effective communication and learning how to accurately listen to others.
Those who fully participate in treatment can experience people in a positive, self-fulfilling way and better manage stressful situations.
