Description of Psychotherapy: Individuals, Couples, Groups and Families
Psychotherapy allows an individual, a couple or a family to explore their issues in a safe, confidential environment. At Pacific Resources we utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as our primary mode of treatment. Research shows it is the therapy of choice for Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and many other psychological disorders. Our approach is collaborative and holistic. We help our clients identify problem behaviors, emotions and thoughts that may have stopped them from feeling good about themselves and/or others.
Group treatment focuses on a particular group topic and utilizes an interpersonal approach. Group sessions last sixty minutes and are comprised of approximately eight members. Groups can be ongoing or time-limited depending on the members (children, adolescents, or adults) and the group topic.
For those who are interested in a more philosophical, non-directive approach we have therapists who emphasize unconscious motivation, internal conflicts, and personal experience. This form of therapy gives the person the opportunity to develop more enlightened values, make wiser decisions and lead a more meaningful and purposeful life.
Those who come to Pacific Resources and commit themselves to treatment are able to achieve life satisfaction. They function better in the real world.
